Exp Video Unit 1

Assessment in This Class

As always the artwork you create and the way you present it will influence the grades you receive in this class.  This year the district is moving towards Standards Based Grading.  With each unit you will see a highly detailed form that describes the assignment and shows what Reportable Standards and Priority Standards are being covered in the unit.   As we've done in the past you will participate in the critique process, which involves presenting your finished artwork and evaluating it in verbal and written form.  You will use the following two rubrics to self assess your work. Each is standards based and will be used to determine your grade in this class.  This year we will also be individually grading your artist statements with a separate rubric.  Both rubrics are posted here.  In some classes you will complete these digitally, while in others you will fill out a paper copy.  Each class will digitally turn in their artist statements to the Google folder for the class.

Export and Share in Animation and Video Classes in MAC lab

In order for animation and video assignments to be uploaded to YouTube, Vimeo or be viewed beyond your computer you will need to export and share them.

Exporting compresses the file and makes it more stable for viewing in Quicktime players.  To export from iMovie go to Share on the top menu and choose Export Using Quicktime (don't use the export to YouTube as it doesn't work with the iMovie version we have).  The longer your movie the longer the export.  When exporting choose to name your file with your name.  You will notice that when the file is finished it will now have a .mov file extension.  This means it is a Quicktime file and can be loaded to YouTube and Shared.

If working in Photoshop choose File, export and then choose Quicktime as the format.  Follow the prompts on screen to get your animation/video exported.

To SHARE within the Mac Lab follow the following path on your computer.
Click Finder or Hard drive and then XServe then SHARE then Share 2014-15 then your class folder.
