Monday-Wednesday: Finish up your free choice perspective drawings showing space through line and 2 or 3 point perspective. What is the creative twist you've added?
Thursday/Friday: Critique on your free choice perspective drawings. Make sure you have the grade rubric and IT's Clear artist statement completed for the critique. Week of October 7-11
Monday/Tuesday: Introduction to Value Unit. Learning about different mark-making systems and how to develop your own mark making to begin to show light and shadow.
You will be experimenting with mark making in your sketchbook. Be sure to bring it to class! Mrs. Bjork's PinBoard on Mark Making and Value Development Wednesday/Thursday: Value Scales should be complete in your sketchbook. Begin small pointillist drawing from a black and white photograph. (bring your own or use one of mine) Use view finder to get a unique and interesting composition. Friday: No class CCR day |
Week of October 14-18
Monday-Wednesday: Dramatic lighting Still Life Drawing. Using pastels draw a full page dramatic still life that shows all five areas of light and a full range of value.
Tuesday/Wednesday: Turn in sketchbooks with 3 pages of Value studies and rendering practice. Week of October 21-25
Monday: A Day class finish the dramatic still life drawing. Be sure to bring your black and white photograph for next class.
Tuesday: B Day class. Create 6-8 thumbnails that plan the composition for your Black and White photo drawing. Use the media you wish to use for the full drawing. Use the rendering style that you wish to explore. Use viewfinders to create a unique view and composition. Wednesday: A Day class. Create 6-8 thumbnails that plan the composition for your Black and White photo drawing. Use the media you wish to use for the full drawing. Use the rendering style that you wish to explore. Get started if thumbnails are complete. Use viewfinders to create a unique view and composition. Thursday/Friday: Work day on BW fully rendered drawing based on photograph. Use media and rendering style of your choosing. Must be 16 x 20 minimum. (11:x 14 if doing pointillism).
