This week is exam week. Please make sure that you have your exam presentation, images and all other items on the SHARE drive. Your show needs to be taken down after the exam. Make sure you clean out all your shelves and take home art.

The exhibit must be taken down by the end of our B1 Exam day, but not before!!! Week of May 18 - 22Monday & Wednesday: Work days to complete final exam presentation. See details to the right. Clear out your shelves and portfolio materials. Scrub palettes etc. Return all art supplies.
Friday: Picnic to celebrate our wonderful work in AP !!!! I will bring a brunch style breakfast. If you want to bring something to share feel free. I will make quiche and have a fruit platter. I may also make scones. Or I might do pancakes instead. Not sure yet, but there will be breakfast! Bring your own beverage. Week of May 11-15Tuesday and Thursday: Time to put up your exam exhibit. Week of May 4 - 8Learning Target: Create works that satisfy the Concentration section requirements for the AP Art portfolio. Respond & Present final works for assessment & discussion through the written & verbal critique process.
Monday and Wednesday: Finalize your 5 Quality pieces by matting them. Revise and upload your written draft based on the comments iI shared with you. Finalize the online college board portfolio, fixing any of the items we've discussed. Make sure the order, sizes etc are correct. Forward to Teacher when complete. If not submitting to the college board you should still have your final portfolio work completed this week and uploaded to the Share drive. Choose a minimum of your 5 best works to be matted and prepped for your AP Exam Exhibit. Those sending to the College Board may have to print photographs of your works for the exhibit . This is fine if some of the work you wish to show is being sent into the College Board. Friday: Exam day. We will label and finalize all items for the portfolio. Those not sending to the College Board will be asked to work independently during this time. Week of April 27 - May 1REMEMBER THAT WE HAVE SHORTENED CLASSES THIS WEEK DUE TO 9TH AND 10TH GRADE TESTING. OUR CLASS IS FROM 10:15 - 11:10 THIS WEEK. (TUESDAY - FRIDAY) MONDAY IS A NORMAL DAY.

Week of March 9 - 13
Tuesday: Critique on concentration #3-4, Barnes and Noble planning. After school help is needed today to mat work. Volunteer hours are available.
Thursday: All students will work on prepping their 3-5 pieces for the Barnes and Noble exhibit. Work must be matted if appropriate, canvases should have a solid color painted on sides for a finished look. Students need to add tabs for hanging as directed in class. All work should have a name, media and Title on the tag. Tags/Labels should appear in the bottom left corner of the work. AP ART students have traditionally helped lead the hanging of the Barnes and Noble exhibit. Your help is needed on Wednesday, March 20th from 3:15-4:15 at Brookfield Square BN upstairs to help hang your exhibit. Please make sure at least half the class can be there to hang work for each other. Continue with concentration works 5, 6, 7 due for critique on Tuesday, March 24th. Concentration # 8 will be due before Spring Break on Wednesday April 1st Week of March 2 - 6

Final Exhibit and Exam DetailsListed here are the details for your AP Final Exhibit and exam. Please note that you do have an exam, even though you have already submitted the portfolio to the college board. The exam will consist of a Keynote or iMovie presentation of your entire portfolio (Breadth and Concentration). It will serve as a summation of all the work you've created, the concepts you've explored and the techniques you've learned. This presentation should be beautiful and a work of art in itself. The exam rubric & exhibit rubric are here. Note the deadline above for the AP Exhibit.
College Board Digital Portfolio Submission Details.
Please carefully follow the directions outlined in the attached handout on digital submission procedures for the AP Art portfolio. All images must be in jpg form and be the maximum proper size (resolution and pixels). I can help you with this if need be. Please log in and set up your accounts soon so I know that they work and can take care of any problems should they exist.
Chicago Field Trip Deadlines & Details
Mr. Lamp's Art History class is going to Chicago for a field trip to the School of the Art Institute and the Museum of Contemporary Art. We are invited to join them. I thought this would be a great and inspiring visit for us. The field trip is Friday, March 27th A day, departing school at 6:30 a.m. and returning at 9:00 p.m.
The cost is $55.00 cash or check made out to Pewaukee High School with "Art Chicago Trip" in the memo line. Fees and permission slips are due Friday, March 13th. This is not a mandatory field trip. If you choose not to go you will need to attend your regular classes for that day. AP Portfolio Fees & Deadlines
The fee for the AP College Board will be due soon. The fee is $91.00. This is a slight increase from last year. When paying the fee please make the check out to Pewaukee High School and put AP Art on the memo line of the check. Submitting to the College Board has many benefits including the possibility of gaining college credits. Please consider submitting your work to the College Board.
If it is a hardship for your family to pay the fee see me privately and we may be able to cover the cost through scholarship funds. If the cost is the only thing keeping you from submitting please chat with me privately. Please submit your fees by Friday, February 20th Art Department Rubric
