DESCRIPTION
Prerequisite: Introduction to Art & Introduction to Digital Media) The student chooses Animation or Experimental Video when they sign up for this class. Students may take the course twice, once as Animation and once as Experimental Video. This advanced level digital art course teaches students how to use time based media techniques as a means for developing design in the fourth dimension (time). Adobe CS 4, Boinx iStop Motion, Apple iMovie and Flash will be taught. Emphasis will be placed on producing animated or experimental video imagery that is based on the students' own stories and characters. Various animation and video techniques will be taught including, rotoscope, stop-motion, and sound design techniques. Students will learn about the history of animation, video and film as an art form while exploring early traditional techniques. Client relationships, career applications and critique methods will be taught along with digital portfolio development. Reportable Standards for Visual Art
